FollowNet One vs. Generic TMS

TMS controls freight. FollowNet One controls the entire operation.

TMS was built for carriers and logistics operators. If you import, export or manage end-to-end Comex processes — the right platform is different.

TMS and foreign trade software solve different problems

A TMS (Transportation Management System) was built for carriers and logistics operators: routing, fleet management, domestic freight. It does that well. What it does not do is foreign trade, because it was not designed for it. Import declarations, export declarations, licenses, cargo manifests, integration with Brazilian government portals, demurrage calculation. All of it is either out of standard scope or require expensive customization that never gets complete. Whoever imports or exports using a generic TMS ends up controlling freight and going blind on the rest of the Comex operation.

A platform designed for end-to-end foreign trade

FollowNet One starts from the importer and exporter problem, not the carrier. Brazilian government portals are already integrated; import and export declarations, licenses and cargo manifests are extracted and monitored automatically; demurrage is calculated with predictive alerts; the Purchase Order is linked to shipment and customs clearance. The importer gets a visibility portal configurable by profile, and KPIs are foreign-trade specific: over 2,000 fields, not the freight indicators of a TMS. Implementation is led by a team that maps and configures for your operation, instead of forcing you to adapt your process to the system.

Before, we had a system that controlled freight but not the operation. FollowNet One connected everything — from the purchase order to customs clearance.

Frequently asked questions

Not necessarily. The TMS keeps handling freight and transport; FollowNet One covers the Comex operation the TMS does not reach. The two can coexist and exchange data via integration.
It depends on the depth. Comex modules in generic TMS usually cover the basics, but rarely have native integration with BR government portals, automatic demurrage calculation and configurable visibility for the importer.
No, that is the TMS domain. FollowNet One is foreign trade software, focused on visibility, deadlines, documents and exceptions of the Comex operation.
Siscomex, CEMercante, Siscarga and Radar, among others, with integration maintained by e.Mix, something a generic TMS usually does not cover by default.
Yes. FollowNet One monitors free time by carrier and triggers predictive alerts before expiration, which generic TMS usually do not do.
Yes. There is a visibility portal configurable by client profile, designed for the importer and partners, not just the carrier.
Implementation is led by a Lean Six Sigma team that maps and configures for your operation; first gains appear in about 30 days.
Yes, via XML/API and integrations with SAP, TOTVS and OSGT, among others, connecting the Comex operation to the rest of your ecosystem.
